My name is Sarah Newton, and I am a licensed pastoral counselor. I have my ordination through The Church (West of Dalton) and I am licensed through The National Christian Counselors Association. I previously suffered from extreme mental health issues for 26 years, 10 of those years I did not leave my own home. I have experienced anywhere from mild to paralyzing anxiety, depression, generalized anxiety, PTSD, bipolar, severe mood swings, severe OCD, severe panic attacks, agoraphobia, social phobia, and even schizophrenia. My extensive experience enables me to offer individualized counseling and care to a wide range of people. I am equipped to provide a neutral ground for individuals, families, and couples to find the root issues and start the rebuilding process.
Pastoral counseling is different from clinical counseling. If you have found this page then bless God and bless you, but you have to ask yourself what your goal is? What are you looking for? If the answer is a diagnosis or medication then I am probably not the right fit. If you are looking for or find yourself in one of these categories then this practice might be the right fit:
- Spiritual assessment (I am a certified Temperament Counselor and can provide an APS report)
- Medical or Mental Health community trust issues (Did the medical/mental health system fail you? Did medication not work for you?)
- Are you pregnant and not prepared for labor/birth? (I have had 7 pregnancies with 4 currently living and 3 of them were home births)
- Abandonment or rejection issues (Do you feel like no one cares?)
- Crisis of faith issues (Who is God? Is he real? Does he care about me?)
- Grief and/or death/loss (Have you lost a loved one or a loved thing such a career or an ability such as your sight?)
- Chronic and terminal illness (Are you dying? Have you been diagnosed with something and told there is no hope?)
- Mental health issues related to religious/spiritual conflicts or beliefs (Have you thought how can anyone know who the real God is when there are so many to choose from?)
- Life after incarceration (Have you been in jail/prison or a group home/halfway house situation and need guidance on rejoining your community?)

My Counseling Focus
My counseling focus will help you look to Yahushua (Jesus) for healing and become aware of His strength and power to be all you need. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, praying, and trusting the Holy Spirit for guidance.
My Promise To You
My promise to you is this: I do not have all the answers to all your problems, but I know the One Who does and I can help guide you to a relationship with Him. My goal is to help you grow from being focused on your struggles and pain, to moving forward in Him which is done by changing your focus to being on Yahushua (Jesus) and what He is doing.
The Disclaimer And Cost
I am a Licensed Pastoral Counselor as stated above. I am licensed through the Church and not the state. I do not diagnose conditions nor do I prescribe medications. I do not want money to be a focus or an issue so donations of any amount are welcomed but not required (Matthew 10:8). Sessions are 1 hour in length.
